vancouver olympics

"For too long the world has failed to recognise that the Olympic Games and the Olympic Movement are about fine athletics and fine art."
-Avery Brundage, American sports Administrator and President of the International Olympic Commitee (IOC) from 1952 to 1972. 1887-1975

the Olympics is a celebration of some of the best athletes in the world. therefore, the design carrying such an event must be exceptional as well. design associated with the Olympics for the 20th and 21st centuries has been modern, fresh, and instep with the design of the given era. new ideas have been introduced as well as new ideas for inventive typefaces (i.e. the Mexico Olympics circa 1968). and the Vancouver Olympics is no different. the look and feel of the design elements present are clean vibrant and keep in step with today's design aesthetic.

so long ol' chap

"Alexander McQueen made an outstanding contribution to British fashion. His extraordinary talent and creativity mean that his designs are adored not just by followers of haute couture but lovers of great style everywhere. This is a great loss to one of Britain's most successful industries and to the design world more widely." Portadown Today

PINK + Bright House

let me begin by saying that i work in the most awesome building ever! it is a converted loft with three floors. color everywhere. famous inspiring quotes. exposed brick walls. floor to ceiling windows. and the sound of little feet running up and down the stairs from upstairs to the main level. i love working in an environment that isn't boring or stiff or uptight. it's rather the opposite. girls constantly talking about the latest boot-camp workout and jordan (Bright House) screaming about his AMAZING RACE adventures. i am challenged and pushed everyday. i am constantly learning new things. and most of all--i'm loving every minute of it! for once, i leave work and cannot wait to wake up the next day and do it all over again.

welcome.

hello! i am the marketing/art intern at PINK magazine in atlanta, ga. this blog will give you insight into my world as a graphic designer as well as serve as a platform for ideas or designs that i find interesting.
